Let me introduce you to these wonderful wee Chooks, Lauren and Cameron and all the fantastic, atmospheric florals and photography captured on their big day by John Johnston Photography.
I first met Lauren and Cameron when they came to see me at the studio early 2016 and instantly knew we were going to work well together designing the flowers for their Loch Lomond wedding.
They weren't 100% sure what they wanted for their wedding flowers at first. This is where the initial consultation is so important. I pride myself on getting to know my couples, whether that be via a face to face consultation, email or telephone - it's so important to understand how they want their wedding day to feel, what details are important to them overall and what's not.
Lauren and Cameron definitely knew they wanted a winter wedding with winter whites, sparkles, Christmas, cosiness and lots of interesting, unusual details throughout.
It was apparent that the floral design for their wedding was definitely to be one of the more prominent features, our designs started around some moss and willow designs Lauren spotted in my studio and grew and evolved from there over the course of the year into a spectacular Winter Woodland Wonderland!
We talked about the full day and how we could really bring Cameron House Hotel to life with floral design. I love this part of my job! Flowers can do so much more beyond your bouquets and buttonholes.
Luxury white Roses were decided upon to be the focal flower throughout with lush green ferns and lots and lots of moss! Incorporating my signature, loose, natural style throughout.
We did lots of planning to ensure the details were just perfect.
Oh how I miss my emails to the 'Chooks' inbox! Seeing something when I was out, sending a pic to Lauren saying "What about this ?!" Only to get an excited response saying "yes!" and "lets add baubles" Ha!
Moss covered candelabras (available to hire from us) with willow and a frosted effect - Hello Narnia!
I created this tree with wood, moss, lots of willow and fresh ferns, and of course, those India Jane baubles (love!) The tree was to become their guest book at the end of the night! What a great idea.
Lauren is a New Zealander living in England getting wed in her (now Husband!) Cameron's native Scotland. It was super important that both of their heritage shone through on what would be the biggest day of their lives.
Their wedding cake, created by Edwina at Rosewood Cakes, encompassed just that.
Antlers for Cameron and New Zealand silver fern for Lauren. I loved how we managed to bring the cake table to life further by bringing the Winter Woodland Wonderland feel to it. I created a huge garland of fresh ferns to sit around the bottom of the cake, showing it off brilliantly!
The top table arrangement stretched over the entire table. White Roses in the centre with twisted Willow stretching along from there, inspired completely by nature. Further Ferns were then added throughout and more of those fab India Jane baubles!
It was such a pleasure to work with you guys. Thank you for having me, I wish you every happiness for your future together!
Lauren was styled by the fabulous Laura Gray of Laura Gray Hair Beauty Bridal and yes, we even had fresh ferns in Lauren's hair!
We never forget about the boys at The Floral Design Boutique!
Buttonholes with White Roses and Thistles compliment Cameron's Bride, and their kilts, perfectly.
Laurens four gorgeous Bridesmaids carried bouquets to compliment Lauren's Bridal bouquet.
Renton Trinity Parish Church was absolutely beautiful with not only candlelight, but the light from 14 Christmas trees!
On the Bonnie, Bonnie banks of Loch Lomond at Cameron House Hotel.
Oh Scotland, you are a beauty.
The tags which were later to be added to the tree and become their guest book!
A mix of Tree Fern, Leather Fern and Asparagus Ferns made up that fabulous garland at the bottom of the tree.
