Elopement Weddings in Scotland
Elopement [ih-lohp-muh nt]
'An act or instance of running off secretly, as to be married'
Last month I chatted through destination weddings and this month it's all about elopements!
Have you ever thought about running off and getting wed, just the two of you?
There are a whole host of reasons why a couple might chose to elope.
Perhaps it's a cost saving exercise or perhaps it's the sheer romance of it being just you guys (and the marriage officiant and all important min 2 witnesses of course!) there to commit yourselves to each other.
No matter the reason, we love an elopement wedding at The Floral Design Boutique!
When the lovely Rhiannon, of Rhiannon Neale Photography & FIlms, and I got chatting about the romance of an elopement wedding we knew a styled photo shoot idea was brewing and BOOM! Fast forward a few months and our creative vision came to life on the beautiful Isle of Arran.
Couples who choose to elope or "run away and get married" are so lucky if they chose to do so in Scotland. In Scotland you can pretty much get wed anywhere, inside or out, making a Scottish elopement the perfect option!
Our thoughts immediately turned to a mix of both coastal and Highland getaway for our shoot and what better destination to fit the bill than one of the many beautiful Scottish islands.
We packed up our wares and headed off on the ferry to the Isle of Arran for the day...
Getting ready for your wedding day, done exactly your way.
All the feels are completely chilled!
When it's just the two of you it gives much more time to focus on those precious moments. Rhiannon is the master of capturing those moments, giving you photography that you will cherish forever.
When it came to designing the flowers for this elopement, I knew they had to compliment the surrounding area as well as the style of the couple.
Relaxed, free flowing and full of style!
I used luxury David Austin garden Roses in peach alongside a classic red Rose with LOTS of foliage. This combination and size complimented our Brides vintage Ghost dress and uber funky Dr Marten boots perfectly.
Where there's a will there's a way... top table for two? Done!
Just because you're having an intimate ceremony doesn't mean you have to miss out. We set up a table right next to the beach, designing a tablescape to fit the bill.
I hand made this moss table runner to tie in with the surrounding landscape with candles and loose flowers scattered throughout. The perfect little area to enjoy a glass of something bubbly to celebrate.
