How To Choose Your Wedding Suppliers, and Love Them!
The relationship you have with your wedding suppliers is more important than the relationship you have with your intended! Ok, ok that's not entirely true but it's up there!
The suppliers you trust are going to become a pretty important part of your life both in the run up to the big day and on the actual day itself and you're gonna want to love them. Yes, Valentines is in the air this weekend and I'm all about the love....
Yay this is my part! Simply put, your Florist should be very excited about your ideas for your floral design and overal style of the day. If they're not then they should decline your booking. Equally, if you're not getting that vibe my advice is to move on.
Your wedding flowers are a huge part of your day! Do your research and perhaps make a shortlist of a few Florists who's work displays the styles you like.
Have a think about your budget and if like us, the Florist has some guide prices on display, you will get an idea as to whether they might be suitable for your budget. Whilst budget should be a consideration (i.e. if a Florist has a minimum spend of £5000 and you have set aside £1000 then this is unlikely to be a match made in heaven) please don't let it entirely lead the way. There is flexibility to be had and I pride myself on creating a realistic quote for my clients once I've taken the time to understand their vision.
I am incredibly passionate about Floristry and each and every wedding I take on.
If your booking goes into my diary, you can rest assured that I am super excited about your ideas and cannot wait to bring them to life!
Don't just take my word for it, choosing the perfect suppliers across the board can be a fun but daunting process. Lets hear from some of the best that the Scottish wedding industry has to offer to guide you on your way.

Some things to consider before committing to a wedding planner are...
1. Do they offer a free initial consultation? This is really important as it allows you to talk through what you envisage for your wedding day with the opportunity to meet face to face and get to know each other a little better.
2. Do they have a portfolio of work/background experience and any relevant training? There are a lot of planners now appearing in the industry and it's useful to understand what level of experience you'll be hiring.
3. Are they insured? Not an exciting thing to have to discuss but it's important you hire a professional who is covered appropriately to give everyone involved peace of mind.

"Choosing a videographer whose style you love is key, but it's also important to find someone who you feel comfortable (and happy!) spending your wedding day with. Create a short list of a few videographers whose work you like most, and then set up a meeting with each to get to know them personally. Ask any questions you might have, and make sure you speak openly about the style and approach you are looking for in your videographer"
"As a reportage style videographer, I shoot unobtrusively; capturing real, candid moments as they happen naturally. I take a relaxed approach and get to know each one of my couples before the wedding day, so by the time you say "I do" you'll feel comfortable with me and in front of my camera. Couples often tell me afterwards that they're surprised to see how much candid footage I managed to capture without them noticing!"

"Having your makeup applied by a professional wedding Makeup Artist (MUA) will help you achieve flawless and long lasting makeup both on and off the camera. On your wedding day, all eyes are on you, so lovely makeup and the right lipstick is as important as your dress! You may love makeup and enjoy doing your own, but you also want to relax and enjoy your wedding morning, stress free and leaving the important job of making you look the best you have ever looked, in the hands of a professional"
"You need to do some research and this can be a bit daunting, especially if this is the first time you have ever had to look for a MUA. Recommendations from friends and colleagues are always a great way to start. Social media is also a great source of information for you to look at lots pictures to decide if you like their style of makeup and to get a feel for their personality. Also, take into consideration the person's level of experience, professionalism and skill. Another good source for recommendations are from your other wedding suppliers e.g Photographers, Florist etc. Wedding suppliers often collaborate with each other on styled shoots plus work together on the Brides wedding morning.
