Always Be Yourself - Especially On Your Wedding Day!

A very Happy New Year to you all!

I'm delighted to share our first blog post of 2017, with some AWESOME images from Dream Weaver Photography and an important message to boot.

I was so excited when the invitation for this alternative Bridal shoot at House For An Art Lover, Glasgow, arrived in my inbox from the lovely Jennifer Thomson Hair.

Co-ordinated by Make Up by Debbie with dresses supplied by Davids Bridal, the brief was super creative. Showcasing several different looks with three fabulous models and, for me, highlights the beauty of why you should always be yourself, especially on your wedding day.

Whatever your personal style, you can absolutely (and must!) bring this to the forefront on your wedding day. Don't feel under pressure to be a certain size or look a certain way. Aim to look like you at your best and most comfortable and you will never regret it.

Traditions are tricky too aren't they? Perhaps you don't want to wear a traditional Bridal gown, perhaps carrying a traditional bouquet of flowers just isn't for you and maybe you'd like to push the boundaries when it comes to hair and make up - I say, do it!

Why not wear your flowers like Juju and show off your waist at the same time with this funky but feminine look!

I adored designing and creating this floral waistband to compliment this Zac Posen dress. Proving that you don't necessarily have to carry a bouquet to look like a Bride!

It was a pleasure to work with our next model, Kelly, showing off a glamourous Gatsby inspired look.

For this style, I opted to create some living jewellery in the form of a hairpiece and silver cuff. Simple, but oh so effective when combined with lots of details on the dress and fabulous hair and make up.

Our next look was, lets say, a little more dramatic!

If you're looking to get creative with your wedding photography, David at Dream Weaver is your man!

This was an absolute dream for us creatives to get stuck into! Nikki was a delightful model, more than happy to demonstrate how you can push the boundaries and still 'do' Bridal!

I LOVED designing this 'Ice Queen' style floral crown.

From sketching out my idea, to choosing the flowers, considering mechanics and finally, creating it and seeing the final results. So much fun!

Nikki is wearing the most beautiful blue-hued gown from Vera Wang and again, styled by Jennifer Thomson Hair and Make Up by Debbie.

Last but not least is this sweet look with a rock & roll edge.

A barefoot Bride, wearing dreamy lace with a floral anklet and hair piece. Love it!
