Off the beaten aisle... an alternative, Halloween inspired Wedding
Well, the occasion that is Halloween is only a mere few days away which means this is the perfect time to finally share this awesome styled shoot with you!
As the title may suggest this isn't your run of the mill bridal shoot, we wanted to do something different, something a bit dark, a bit moody if you will.
Super talented Photographer/Videographer Rhiannon, of Rhiannon Neale Photography, and I got our heads together, roped in the best of the best and this was the result...
The venue was the wonderful Comrie Croft, where Wedding Co-Ordinator Ellen looked after us brilliantly, thank you Ellen!
We chose this venue near Crieff for its versatility. Essentially it's a DIY barn venue but as you'll see from the shots we captured, it wears many hats!
If you're looking for a remote farm venue, it ticks that box, DIY barn, absolutely but there's also a real industrial feel like this shot here.
Not to mention the wooded area where you can say your I do's if you so wish.
Ahh the flowers. Go big or go home right?
I designed a large hand tied bouquet in the funkiest of colours! Shades of purple and green including Hydrangea, Calla Lily and a seasonal favourite of mine, Clematis.
I also included some grasses throughout, anything goes - remember, it's your day!
This stunning dress was provided by Emily of Unbridaled.
The place to go for non traditional Bridal dresses!
The floral design continued inside to this part of the barn area which is a favourite for the ceremony and what's not to love!
Again, I love the industrial feel of the exposed brick and wooden beams. OBVIOUSLY it needs a floral arch though!
This was the perfect chance for me to show off our new solid, silver birch wood arch standing at 7ft tall. Decorated here with a corner and side spray, it can be designed in many ways including fully covered.
There's also a discount available on this to new and existing bookings until the end of the year so drop me a note to discuss!
The other decor in the room, gorgeous hanging tea light globes and floating candle aisle decor, were supplied by Laura of Ivory Tower Weddings. A venue decor company with fabulous taste and eye for detail.
We shot the shoot (not the sheriff) as the sun was starting to go down, one of my favourite times of day especially in Autumn/Winter.
How lovely does this room look lit by candlelight with it being slightly dark outside. So romantic and indeed, a little bit different from the norm!
That hair.. that make up! Who did it Amanda, tell us!
Well, that work of art that is Meghans hair up was designed and created by the super talented Jennifer Thomson Hair. It's fabulous isn't it!
Who says you need to have a boring up do for your wedding day, this style shows you you can be as bold as you dare to be!
Make up is by a talented duo I've worked with many times now and who have even looked after my own make up, the girls at KeKi Make Up Artistry.
Kimmy joined us on the day and blew us away with this look. A dark lip, on your wedding day? Yes! How awesome does it look, combined with the dark eyes and flawless skin, absolutely beautiful.
We really wanted to push the boundaries of a traditional wedding on this shoot and when you want to do such a thing, you call in Edwina of Rosewood Cakes.
Do I need to say anything?
Just feast your eyes on the detail that has gone into this Geode creation captured perfectly by Rhiannon.
The arch wasn't the only first for me on this shoot.
I'm so excited to show off this floral choker I created!
Gold, metal choker with real, live succulents applied. This is perfect for alternative Bridal, perfect!
And if this isn't the perfect table setting for a Halloween wedding.. I don't know what is!
Fantastic attention to detail by Ivory Tower Weddings, there are even little silver pumpkin candles!
At The Floral Design Boutique, we love to do more than just your bouquets.
Hanging installations have been a big trend this year and are continuing into 17/18.
As with the rest of the shoot, I pushed the boundaries on this concept too, creating this hanging 'chandelier' on an old cherry blossom branch, decorated with hanging Amaranthus, Stocks and Hellebores.
All seasonal flowers available in fabulous colours at this time of year.
I hope you've enjoyed the images and details of this shoot and that perhaps it's given you a little inspiration!
If you'd like to discuss any of the details please drop me an email or contact any of the suppliers directly by clicking on the business names noted above.
Happy Halloween y'all!
